Fine Watches Remind me of Tick-Tock the Crocodile

When I was a kid growing up, I used to love watching Peter Pan. And not just the classic Disney animation, but other tellings of it, from the play to the musical to reading the original. And one character who was always great was Tick-Tock the Croc0dile. Most people don’t even realize he has a name, but indeed he does. He was the croc that tortured Captain Hook with the ticking of the alarm clock he swallowed, the one thing Hook was truly afraid of.

When I take off one of the fine watches from my wrist at night and put it back on its display, sometimes it’s so quiet as I’m laying down to sleep I can hear the tick, tick, tick of the watch ever so faintly. And once you hear a small sound like that, you can’t help but focus on it. It doesn’t bother me though, it just reminds me of Tick-Tock, which then reminds me of my childhood. So I guess you could say the ticking of a watch is a comforting sound. I certainly don’t mind being surrounded by the sound of fine watches. But I think it’d be a safe bet that Captain Hook would keep them far, far away from himself.
