Ever since the 1800′s watches have been known to come from the Swiss. They had the best designers and engineers, as a result their brands were shipped to all corners of the globe and they continue to be til this day. Still with the limits of Switzerland’s population creating a need to seek out new customers some watch companies wised up and went after the market in the United States with a strategic focus.
Concord was one such company. They were among the first luxury watch designer to incorporate precious metals and stones into their watches. They made wristwatches made of coins. They even made the thinnest watch made to that point in 1978, which changed watch style for years to come. These innovative ideas won them a lot of favor with the watch enthusiasts in the States. In face Americans watch styling habits were often shaped by the moves made by Concord.
Concord watches now operate as part of the Movado group which over sees some of the biggest names in luxury watches. As time has moved so to has Concord’s designs and business strategy. Yet they remain a trusted brand and are purchased with pride and confidence both in America and globally.
