Raymond Weil Watches, Fresh Designs From A Fresh Player

In the world of luxury watches a few names tower above the rest. Among those names Raymond Weil is one of the most respected. Their designs and specific watch lines have not only become collectible pieces among watch enthusiasts everywhere they have inspired a rash of copy-cats and imitators. Imitation being the sincerest form of flattery, Raymond Weil watches should be blushing quite a bit.

Take for just one example the Don Giovanni line of watches. These rectangular high end watches have been the clear inspiration for not only sub-par watch brands looking to cash in on cheaper engineering and materials but also some fairly well respected watch brands just looking to tap into some of that Raymond Weil style.

It is almost curious that Raymond Weil watches would demand such a large market share. In an industry where many of the biggest names have been around for more than a century and a half Raymond Weil is a relative new comer, having been founded in 1976. That sense of newness somewhat defines their place in the watch market. It is what allowed the company to flourish out of a time(the 1970′s) when the Swiss watch industry was in turmoil. Since then the company has become a market leader and continues to make high quality watches.
